About

Eunsun’s practice explores the relationship between structure, materiality, and human existence.
Through painting, she investigates how humans create systems of order while living within uncertainty and limitation.

Recent works examine structure not as a fixed system, but as a condition of human existence. Language, repetition, relationships, and systems of organisation are understood as ways through which humans navigate and sustain themselves within the world.

At the same time, the work remains grounded in materiality and bodily experience. Through accumulated marks, physical gestures, and layered surfaces, the paintings reflect processes of effort, vulnerability, and change. Rather than treating chaos and order as opposites, they are approached as interconnected conditions that coexist within human experience.

Underlying the practice is an interest in the tension between human limitation and the desire for something beyond it. The work explores how painting can engage with experiences that exceed language, fixed concepts, and systems of understanding.
